My Personal Nutrition Journey
My nutrition journey started in the late eighties. As a child I was very active and extremely fit – there were absolutely no signs of a looming weight problem. During my teenage years I became a little chunky, without having changed my diet. Mind you, these were the pre-Internet days. Food and nutrition were not yet major topics, at least not for me. In my case, all I needed to do was to get rid of 5-6kg. The problem was that I didn’t know how. I jogged, played handball, skied cross country and worked out but nothing seemed to help.
At the age of 19 I started my first diet. This seemed to work wonders and after only a few months I was slim and trim. However, constantly eating the same things was not sustainable for me. As soon as I returned to my previous eating habits the Yoyo effect kicked in and I put back on the lost kilos. This continual back and forth of going on and off of different diets and losing weight only to put it back on a short time later went on for a number of years. During this time I have tried mutiple diets and nutrition philosophies, in some cases numerous times each. This was very stressful and time consuming, to say the least.
At the same time healthy nutrition began to increasingly fascinate me and became a hobby. In 2005 I started only eating organic food. Nevertheless, one day I began suffering from nasal congestion, bloat and frequent colds. I was not diagnosed with any allergies or food sensitivities. Once I stopped eating dairy products and gluten the congestion and bloat were gone. Despite all of the positive aspects that organic food appeared to have, I was still overweight – and with age the excess baggage doubled and tripled compared to when I started dieting.
In 2011 I was blessed with twin girls. As many of you know, having children is an experience that reminds you of the truly important things in life. I felt the need for change and doing something professionally that is more personally meaningful for me. Therefore, I began attending numerous courses and workshops on nutrition and dieting. While I successfully coached many people on healthy nutrition, I myself was still struggling with weight instability. I knew so much about nutritional health and successfully shared this knowledge with and to the benefit of others, while I myself was obviously missing something.
Finally, early 2018, almost 30 years after the beginning of my journey, I came across the WILDFIT program, tried it myself, and was totally blown away. At last I found what I was missing: nutritional psychology combined with the origins of human nutrition, in other words the way mother nature intended humans to be nourished.
I finally reached a state of what we call “Food Freedom”. Simply put, Food Freedom is about being able to eat what you want, when you want, as much as you want and still feel great about food and yourself. It is the ability to not eat what you wish you wouldn´t, without having feelings or regret or missing out What a relief!!

The result: I released 16kg within 90 days and a total 23kg after six months. And I never felt hungry during all this time. Moreover, there were no additional exercise requirements. No more pain, punishment and restrictions, which were the very reasons all of the other diets I tried didn’t work in the long run. This is when I realized I wanted to become a certified WILDFIT coach to help others reach this state of being full of energy, well nourished and of optimal health and weight.
These 90 days also changed my view on physical exercise altogether. It was no longer something I had to do to lose weight but rather the pleasure of simply moving and feeling fit without thinking about kilograms.
This is testament to the fact hat the body is an ingenious system, which harmonizes, balances and heals itself when provided the appropriate resources. What else: I love long walks with my family, friends or my four-legged daughter Chili – our very special family Spitz. I practice Kundalini yoga and enjoy skiing in the winter. I love good food, meeting friends and enjoy cultural diversity. I love sandy beaches and warm sea water. I love cats but adore our dog. While I cry in movies, I am very determined otherwise. I love organized chaos. I love loud and energizing music beats. I love smiling people. I love dancing with life.I DO WHAT IS RIGHT, NOT WHAT IS EASY.
